My hometown is Ilorin and it is the capital of Kwara State in Nigeria, my hometown is rich in history and culture. Traditional dishes include Amala (Yam flour ball), Ewedu (jute leave soup), and Gb\u00e8g\u00ecr\u00ec (beans soup) and very popular with cheese. People in Ilorin are very nice, kind, respectful and highly value family very much. My hometown is very peaceful, safe, nice environment and resourceful business people (just like Kumamoto). The climate is savannah with dry and rainy seasons. People in Ilorin loves greeting and celebrating any kind of event especially weddings and naming ceremony.<\/p>\r\n

Among Japanese foods, I like ramen. Since I am a Muslim, I cannot eat dishes containing pork or alcohol. Usually, I order ingredients online and cook for myself, so I have no difficulties living in Japan but since I am a Muslim, halal ramen is the easiest one Japanese dish I can eat, so I have come to like it.<\/p>\r\n

What I like about living in Kumamoto is the beautiful nature, the safe and peaceful environment, Kumamon, and the kind people. I especially love visiting tourist spots like Mount Aso, the Kumamoto City Zoological and Botanical Gardens, and Kumamoto Castle.
\r\nOne difficulty I faced was communication. This is not limited to Kumamoto, but I struggled because I did not understand Japanese. In my home country, there are over 200 languages, so even people from different regions within the same country communicate in English. I was used to this, so I found it challenging that English was not as widely understood in Japan as I had expected.
\r\nI also find Japanese people to be very quiet. Whether on buses, trains, at school, in shopping malls, on the streets, or at home, it is always quiet. In Nigeria, people usually speak loudly, and if it becomes quiet, we think something dangerous has happened. However, it seems that the opposite is true for Japanese people. I was surprised by this aspect of Japanese culture, which values quietness and politeness.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
